  • There are three stores on the island, post office, and a Health center
  • Two fire halls with Heli pads.  
  • We keep our 20 ft aluminum boat on an anchor/cement weight buried in the sand  in front of our house(400 ft from shore) with a pulley in each end and 800 ft of rope braided together. This way we can pull the boat in and out. 
  • Fantastic beach combing at low tide.
  • Internet is available on the Island from a company called Twincom. $64.00 per month for 50 GB. We stream Netflix wireless to our TV.
  • Cortes We Care is a security company that checks on properties when owners are absent.
  • Good crabbing, fishing, prawning right in front of the home
  • Lots of hiking trails on the Island. 
  • Hauge Lake (about 4 km away) is very popular for swimming for those who prefer to swim in sweet water over salt water.
